JAI CV-A50 monochrome CCD camera with a Ricoh 6 mm 1:1.2 TV lens on it. 1/2-inch sensor, analog video out on BNC, 12 V DC. There is a 40.5 mm Schneider-Kreuznach 093 filter screwed on the lens, and a black mounting bracket with two guide pins.
Why does the lens look black from the front?
That is the 093 filter. Schneider-Kreuznach lists the B+W 093 as an 830 nm infrared filter that blocks visible light. With it on, the camera sees only near-infrared. Unscrew it for normal visible-light imaging.
How do I power and connect it?
12 V DC, fuse 1.0 A, as printed on the label. The rear panel has VIDEO OUT (BNC), DC IN/SYNC, TRIGGER and a GAIN trimmer. JAI set the CV-A50 up over RS-232C commands instead of DIP switches. Power draw is 1.5 W.
EIA or CCIR?
The label doesn't say, so no resolution or frame rate is quoted here. The serial reads E554050 C. The body is small: 29 x 44 x 66 mm and 150 g without the lens. Label also shows CE, RoHS and the FCC Part 15 statement, made in Japan.
