Seven JAI CV-A50 monochrome CCD cameras, all with lenses on and a JAI adapter bracket on the back. Used. The CV-A50 is a small 1/2-inch analog camera, 12 V DC, video out on BNC. The label we photographed reads JAI CV-A50, No. C561211 C, DC:12V FUSE:1.0A, Made in Japan.
Which lenses are on them?
6 mm 1:1.2 TV lenses. One barrel reads PENTAX TV LENS, others show 6 mm 1:1.2 and a focus scale down to 0.2 m. Three of the lenses carry a Schneider-Kreuznach filter ring marked Made in Germany. B&H lists the Pentax 6 mm f/1.2 TV lens as a C-mount lens for 1/2-inch cameras, which matches the sensor size here.
What is the box on the back of each camera?
A JAI camera adapter, molded ELE00635 REV.1. Inside it plugs into the camera's round DC IN/SYNC and TRIGGER connectors. On the outside it has a single 15-pin high-density D-sub (HD15), so one cable carries power and signals. The BNC video out on the camera stays free.
How do I power a CV-A50 without the adapter?
Through the 12-pin DC IN/SYNC connector: 12 V DC, 1.5 W. Matrox's interface notes for the CV-A50 put +12 V and video on that 12-pin plug. Settings are made over RS-232C commands; there are no DIP switches. The rear also has a GAIN trimmer.

Questions about this part
How many cameras are in the lot?
Seven, as in the group photo. Each one has a lens and an adapter bracket fitted.
Is the JAI CV-A50 color or black and white?
Black and white. It is a monochrome CCD camera with analog video output.
How does a CCD camera work?
The CCD sensor turns light into charge pixel by pixel, and the camera reads that charge out line by line as a video signal. On the CV-A50 that signal leaves on the BNC connector.
Can I use the Pentax TV lens 6mm 1:1.2 on another camera?
Pentax sells this 6 mm f/1.2 TV lens as a C-mount lens for 1/2-inch sensors, so it fits other C-mount cameras of that size.
What does the JAI camera adapter connect to?
It has an HD15 plug on the back. The cable it mated with is not in the photos.
Is it the EIA or the CCIR version?
The label doesn't say, so no resolution or frame rate is quoted here.
