This is a lot of 3 Omron E3X-DA11-S digital fiber amplifier units, the NPN-output standard model of the Omron E3X-DA-S series with a red LED light source and a pre-wired cable. A fiber amplifier is the electronics half of a fiber optic sensor: it sends light into a fiber unit, measures how much comes back, shows the incident level and threshold on its digital display, and switches its NPN output when the level crosses the threshold. The fiber unit itself is not shown in the photos.
What do the markings say?
Each amplifier cover is printed OMRON and DA11-S, with the wire colors Brown: 12 to 24VDC, Blue: 0V, Black: OUTPUT, and the CE mark. In Omron's E3X-DA-S catalog the E3X-DA11-S is the standard model with timer and response speed change, NPN output, with a 2 m cable.
How does a fiber optic sensor work with this amplifier?
The red LED (635 nm) sends light down the emitter fiber; the receiver fiber brings it back to the amplifier. The E3X-DA11-S compares the received light with the threshold set by teaching or by hand, and its Power Tuning function adjusts emission power and receiver gain digitally. Response time can be set from 48 µs (super-high-speed mode) to 4 ms (high-resolution mode), and an OFF-delay, ON-delay or one-shot timer can be added.
How is it wired?
Three wires: brown to +12 to 24 VDC, blue to 0 V, black is the NPN open-collector output (50 mA max., 26.4 VDC max. load supply). The amplifier has reverse-polarity and output short-circuit protection and mounts on a DIN rail, side by side with other units.
What is in the photos?
