The Omron G9SX-AD322-T15-RT is a G9SX Flexible Safety Unit (Advanced Unit) with three instantaneous and two off-delayed solid-state safety outputs, an off-delay of up to 15 seconds, and 24 VDC supply. It is the screw-terminal (-RT) version, also listed as G9SX-AD322-T15-RT DC24 and G9SX-AD322-T15. What does the model number mean?
In Omron's G9SX model code, AD is an Advanced Unit, 3 is three instantaneous safety outputs, 2 is two off-delayed safety outputs, 2 is two auxiliary outputs, T15 is a 15 s maximum off-delay, and RT is screw terminals (RC would be spring-cage).
How does the off-delay work?
The OFF-DELAY switch on the front sets the delay for outputs S44 and S54 in 16 steps: 0, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10 and 15 s, within ±5% of the set value. At 0 s they act as instantaneous outputs. The three instantaneous outputs S14, S24 and S34 switch off at once (15 ms max. response time).
What is the logical AND connection?
Several G9SX units can be linked so one unit's safety output feeds the next unit's logical AND input (T41/T42). The next unit only turns on when both its own safety inputs and the AND input are on. This lets one emergency stop shut the whole machine while a door only stops its own zone. A side switch sets the AND input to AND or OFF.
