What do X, Q and 308 mean in LM3710XQMM-308?

From TI's datasheet: X is the totem-pole (push-pull) reset output. Q sets a 200 ms reset timeout and a 1.6 s watchdog timeout. 308 is the 3.08 V reset threshold. MM is the 10-pin VSSOP (DGS) on 1000-piece reels, and /NOPB is the lead-free version.

Is the LM3710 a good voltage supervisor for a 3.3 V rail?

That is the standard use. TI's application circuits show it on a 3.3 V supply, and the 3.08 V threshold holds ±2% over temperature. The low-line output warns first, at about 2% above the reset point.

How does the watchdog timer work?

The WDI pin watches a line from your processor. If that line does not change state within the watchdog period, 1.6 s on this version, the LM3710 pulls reset. Any edge on WDI restarts the count.

Push-pull. The X in the part number is TI's code for the totem-pole output.

What is the PFI pin for?

It is a separate comparator with a 1.225 V threshold. Use it with a divider to watch the raw supply or a second rail.

Does the reel need baking before reflow?

No. The label states MSL 1, 260 °C, unlimited floor life.

How low does reset stay valid?

TI specifies the reset output down to 1.0 V VCC on the LM3710.
