The Larco Zone Monitor 5000EX, part number 0023161100, is a safety mat control unit made by Larco, an Acrometal company, of Brainerd, Minnesota. It is housed in a wall-mount enclosure, with front-panel indicators for STOP, FAULT and RUN and ten MAT STATUS LEDs that show which mat circuit is active or open. This unit is new, open box, with its Larco carton.
What do the front-panel LEDs show?
The front label explains the mat diagnostic information: all mat status LEDs off means operating normally; the LED of the first activated mat turns on; and the mat status LEDs flash for an open mat circuit.
How is the supply voltage set?
The label inside the door shows AC power wiring for a 115 VAC configuration and a 230 VAC configuration, selected by jumpers on the terminal block. The board also carries terminal blocks for the mats and for a remote restart.
What do the diagnostic flash codes mean?
The error code label inside the door lists: 1 flash beat, normal operation; 2 flash beats, MPCE signal fault (signal too slow or in the wrong state); 3 flash beats, dip-switch or jumper configuration fault; 4 flash beats, safety relay discrepancy, response delay or sequencing fault; 8 flash beats or steady on, internal fault. It warns that the guarded machine must be powered down and the safeguarded area clear before pressing RESET or RESTART, and refers to the installation manual.
