The JS Automation ADP-3232 is a DIN rail mounted wiring board that breaks out the 32 inputs and 32 power NMOS outputs of a JS Automation DIO3232A or DIO3232B PCI digital I/O card to screw terminals. The silkscreen on this board reads "ADP-3232 32I/32O NMOS V1.2 SV1.2", and the manufacturer lists the current version of this board as ADP3232ADIN(N). It connects to the main card through a 68-pin female SCSI II connector.
What does the wiring board do?
It is the field side of the DIO3232 card. Push buttons, limit switches, proximity switches and sensors wire to the input terminals, and loads wire to the output terminals. Each input and output has an LED indicator, and terminals are grouped in fours with one common terminal per group.
What is an NMOS output?
An NMOS output is a sinking output: the MOSFET switches the load to the common (0 V) side. JS Automation rates the ADP3232ADIN(N) outputs at 1 A sink up to 120 VDC. The same board family also came in a PMOS (sourcing, 1 A at 24 VDC) and a relay version; this one is the NMOS version.
What power does it need?
24 VDC ±4 VDC, per the JS Automation specification. A red LED shows power.
