The B&R X20DIF371 is an X20 System I/O module with 16 digital inputs for 24 VDC, sink wiring and 1-wire connections, shown here mounted on its X20BM11 bus module. It reads binary signals from sensors and switches and passes them to the controller over the X20 bus. Each input has a green status LED, and the input delay can be set in software. The part number is written both as X20DIF371 and as X20 DI F371, the way it is printed on the module.
What does the module label say?
The I/O module reads X20 DI F371, Rev. C0, serial C0E80269989, Made in Austria, with CE, KC, cULus and ATEX (FTZÚ 09 ATEX 0083X) markings. The bus module under it reads X20 BM 11, Rev. H0, serial 7246DP95847, Made in Austria. The side print shows the wiring for Sensor 1 to Sensor 16 with +24 VDC and GND.
What is the X20BM11 bus module for?
In the B&R X20 System each electronics module sits on a bus module that carries the X20 bus and the I/O power supply to the next module in the row. B&R lists the X20BM11 (24 VDC keyed, internal I/O power supply connected through) as the bus module to order with the X20DIF371. The bus module snaps onto the DIN rail and the I/O module plugs into it.
What else do I need to use it?
A 16-pin X20TB1F terminal block for the field wiring, which B&R lists as a separate order item and which is not shown in the photos, plus an X20 bus controller or CPU and a 24 VDC I/O supply.

What is the difference between X20DIF371 and X20cDIF371?
The electronics are the same. The X20cDIF371 has a protective coating against condensation and corrosive gases; this one is the uncoated X20DIF371.
Which terminal block does it use?
B&R lists the 16-pin X20TB1F terminal block. It is ordered separately and is not shown in the photos.
Can I set the input filter time?
Yes. The software filter defaults to 1 ms and can be set from 0 to 25 ms in 0.2 ms steps, on top of a hardware filter of ≤100 μs.
Does it work with sourcing (PNP) sensors?
The module has sink inputs: a sensor switches +24 VDC onto the input, as in the B&R connection example.
