The B&R X20CS1020 is a 1x RS232 communication module for the B&R X20 I/O system, and this listing is the module (Rev. F0) together with an X20BM11 bus module (Rev. G0). B&R describes it as an RS232 interface for serial, remote connection of complex devices to the X20 system. Like a normal X20 electronics module it can sit anywhere on the remote backplane. The part number is also written X20 CS 1020 and X20CS1020.

What is the X20BM11 bus module?
The X20BM11 is the B&R X20 bus module, 24 VDC keyed, with the internal I/O power supply connected through. It snaps onto the DIN rail and carries the X20 bus and power from module to module, and the X20CS1020 plugs onto it. B&R lists the X20BM11 or X20BM15 bus module as a mandatory accessory for this module.
What else do I need?
A 12-pin X20TB12 or 6-pin X20TB06 terminal block, which B&R lists as a mandatory accessory, ordered separately. The serial connection is made through the terminal block. No terminal block is shown in the photos.
