The B&R 8EAC0152.001-1 is an ACOPOS P3 plug-in module that adds an analog multi-encoder interface to an ACOPOS P3 servo drive, so the drive can read a motor's sine/cosine encoder. This unit is new, revision B0, made in Austria by B&R Industrial Automation in Eggelsberg, in its original box.
What does the module connect to?
It fits slot 1 of an ACOPOS P3 drive. The front plate carries the connector marked X41M, which B&R specifies as a 10-pin male iX industrial connector, coding B, for encoder cables up to 75 m. B&R lists adapter cable 8ECG00X4.3151D-0 (0.4 m, 10-pin iX to 15-pin female D-sub) as an optional accessory.
What signals does it read?
Differential sine/cosine inputs with 12-bit resolution and 120 Ω termination, a differential reference input, an RS485 synchronous serial interface (data rate depends on the configured encoder type) and one temperature sensor input for 500 Ω to 5 kΩ. B&R's data sheet notes HIPERFACE as one of the configurable encoder types.
What does Rev B0 mean for the encoder supply?
The encoder supply is configurable to 5.2 V (max. 300 mA) or 11.45 V (max. 200 mA), overload- and short-circuit-proof. B&R notes that up to revision C0, the 11.45 V load capacity drops to 100 mA at ambient temperatures from 40 °C. This module is Rev B0, so that limit applies.

How does a sin/cos encoder interface work?
The encoder sends two analog signals, sine and cosine, per line. The module digitizes them (12-bit here) and interpolates between lines, so the drive gets a much finer position than the line count alone.
