How does a thermal gas mass flow meter work?
A thermal mass flow sensor heats a small element in the gas path and measures how much heat the flowing gas carries away. Because heat transfer depends on the mass of gas passing, not its volume, the reading does not need correction for gas temperature or pressure. Azbil says the CMS can be switched between industrial gases in its digital settings and needs no upstream straight pipe.
What are the CMS series specifications?
Azbil's current CMS specification sheet lists a 100:1 measuring range, an operating pressure of -0.07 to +1 MPa, an operating temperature of -10 to +60 °C, a 12 to 24 V DC supply, and an analog output switchable between 0-5 V, 1-5 V and 4-20 mA from the front keys. The 100 L/min range of this unit is printed on its label; it is not one of the ranges on the current sheet, so check the exact model code with Azbil.
What is in the photos?
