The Matsushita AEV13024 is a 30 A, 400 V DC EV relay (DC contactor) with a 24 V DC coil, from the Matsushita Electric Works (now Panasonic) AEV series. It has one normally open main contact (1 Form A) sealed in a gas-filled capsule, so the arc stays enclosed when it breaks DC current. The label on this unit reads AEV13024, Matsushita Electric Works, Ltd., Made in Japan. Buyers also search it as Panasonic AEV13024 or AEV 13024.
What does the AEV13024 part number mean?
In Panasonic's AEV ordering code, the digit 3 is the 30 A contact rating, 1 is the 1 Form A arrangement, 0 means no indicator contact, and 24 is the 24 V DC coil. The 12 V DC coil version is the AEV13012.
Where is the AEV13024 used?
Panasonic lists electric and hybrid electric vehicles as the target applications for the AEV relay family: switching and cutting off high-voltage DC power in a compact, quiet package. The datasheet recommends a surge-absorbing varistor across the coil of the 30 A type, rather than a diode.
What condition is this relay in?
Used. The photos show the relay mounted on a metal bracket with a clear tinted plastic plate on standoffs over the main terminals. Blue leads with red ring terminals are fitted to the main terminals, grey coil leads run to a white 2-pin connector, and one wire carries a P30 marker. The label has some marker scribbles over it.
