Horiba STEC SEC-Z719MGX, a Z700 digital mass flow module set up for C4F8 at 50 SCCM. Used, made in Japan, inspected 26 Dec 2017. The MG in the model is the multi-gas, multi-range version, so the gas and full scale on the tool label differ from the N2 base data on the nameplate. Also written SEC Z719MGX or SECZ719MGX.
Why does the nameplate say N2 1000 SCCM?
The nameplate carries the base setup: gas N2, flow rate 1000SCCM, calibration N2, C.F. 1.000, range code MR.MG-04. A separate label next to the display gives the setup it ran in the tool: C4F8, 50SCCM, serial 3482514756 and part number 788-810129-050.
How do I talk to it?
The nameplate gives protocol Z30, 485, signal T1. On the top there are a 9-pin D-sub, two RJ-style ports, MSD/LSD rotary address switches and a data rate selector for 9.6, 38.4 or 115.2 kb. A small display with a DISPLAY MODE button, a ZERO hole and %FLOW, %SET, kPa and psia LEDs sit beside them.
What does the Horiba Z700 series offer?
Horiba lists the SEC-Z700X as a pressure insensitive mass flow controller with an on-board inlet pressure sensor. It reads out flow, temperature and pressure, and the user can change gas type and full scale. Horiba quotes 1% of set point accuracy and response within 1 second.
