HORIBA STEC SEC-Z719MGX, a Z700 digital mass flow controller calibrated for N2, with a 1000 SCCM flow rate on the label and a front sticker reading N2 500 SCCM. Used, made in Japan, inspected 25 Dec 2017. The model is also searched as SEC Z719MGX or Z719MGX.
Is it 500 SCCM or 1000 SCCM?
The rating label gives FLOW RATE 1000SCCM and MR. MG-04, HORIBA's multi-range, multi-gas code. HORIBA says these Z700 models let the user change gas type and full-scale flow. The sticker on the front panel reads N2, 500SCCM, 3476270737 (the unit's MFG number) and 788-810013-500, so the unit was most likely set up at 500 SCCM full scale for the tool it came from.

A heated sensor tube measures how much heat the gas carries away, which gives the mass flow. The electronics compare that to the set point and open or close the built-in valve to match it.
Can I change the gas or range on the SEC-Z719MGX?
The label carries MR. MG-04, HORIBA's multi-range, multi-gas function. HORIBA states that gas type and full-scale flow on these Z700 models can be changed by the user.
Is this mass flow controller for nitrogen?
Yes. Gas and calibration on the label are N2, with a conversion factor of 1.000.
