The Omron PY14-02 is a back-connecting 14-pin relay socket with PCB terminals for Omron MY-series 4-pole relays such as the MY4; this listing is a box of 10, new. The relay plugs into the socket and the socket is soldered into a printed circuit board, so the relay can be replaced without desoldering. OMRON Corporation, Made in Japan. Type PY14-02, Socket, Qty 10. Rating 5A 250VAC. The box also carries a Japanese notice: when a relay with a built-in diode is fitted in the socket, check the diode direction and the coil polarity (+/-) before wiring.
Which relays fit the PY14-02?
Omron lists the PY14-02 ("PY14-02 FOR MY") as a socket for its MY4 relays, for example the MY4-GS-R and MY4N-GS-R. It is the PCB-terminal version of Omron's 14-pin MY sockets; DIN-rail versions with screw or push-in terminals (PYF14 series) are separate parts.
How is a 14-pin relay socket wired?
On the PY14-02 the pins come straight out of the back of the socket for through-hole soldering. Each socket position matches one relay pin: four sets of common, NO and NC contacts plus the two coil terminals. Follow the terminal arrangement in Omron's MY relay datasheet when laying out the PCB.
