This is a KraussMaffei MC3 operator control panel with a VC 400 controller board, the operator station of a KraussMaffei injection molding machine. The board label reads "VC 400 KRAUSSMAFFEI" and the screen label reads "MC3 BILDSCHIRM" (MC3 screen). KraussMaffei introduced the MC3 control in 1987 and fitted its first flat-screen monitor in 1991.
What is on the front panel?
A flat screen with eight green softkeys, a membrane keypad with machine function keys, a numeric keypad, F1 to F6, alarm, on/off, hard copy and key buttons, a red emergency-stop button and two key switches. A data section has a floppy disk drive, a magnetic card slot and a port panel marked V24D and AT with two D-sub connectors.

A label inside the housing lists the board connectors: S15 20mA external temperature units; RS232 ports S18 robot, S19 host computer, S12 hotrunner, S13 mold temperature unit, S14 energy recovery unit, S4 printer and S16 modem; S6 magnetic card programmer, S7 magnetic card reader, S8 MF2 PC keyboard, S5 CAN SR-module and S9 keyboard. The label also warns to change the battery only with power on and the machine stopped.
