The Telemecanique LR2 F5369 is a thermal overload relay block for motor currents of 100 A to 160 A, supplied here as a set with an LR2 D1305 thermal relay on an LA7-D1064 adapter. A thermal overload relay protects a motor against overcurrent: when the motor draws more than the set full-load current for too long, the relay opens its N.C. contact and the contactor drops out. In this set the LR2 F5369 block carries the motor current on its three bar terminals, and the LR2 D1305 relay, wired to it, does the tripping and carries the setting dial, test, stop and reset controls.
How is the current set?
The setting table on the relay reads LR2F5369 (A) 101 / 112 / 128 / 144 / 160 against relay settings 0.63 / 0.7 / 0.8 / 0.9 / 1. So the LR2 D1305 dial range of 0.63 to 1 corresponds to a motor full-load current of about 101 A to 160 A. The LR2 F5369 label notes "Numbers on dial are full load motor currents".

How does a thermal overload relay work?
It senses the motor current and, if the current stays above the set full-load value too long, opens its N.C. contact (95-96) so the contactor coil drops out and the motor stops.
Why is there an LR2 D1305 relay on it?
In this set the LR2 F5369 block carries the motor current and the LR2 D1305 relay, wired to it, does the tripping and holds the dial, test, stop and reset controls. The leaflet lists the LR2-D1305 for the LR2-F5369.
