The ReQuest Intelligent Media Client is a compact media player unit made by ReQuest of Ballston Spa, New York. The black brushed-metal case has a slot-loading disc drive and power button on the front and a full set of video, audio and network connections on the back. It runs on 115/230 V AC, 60/50 Hz, 1.5 A through a standard IEC inlet with its own rocker switch. The rear panel notes U.S. Patent 7136934 and carries FCC and CE marks. It is also searched as ReQuest IMC.
What does the Intelligent Media Client do?
ReQuest describes the IMC as a video client that connects a TV to a ReQuest server, giving access to the DVD collection archived on the server and to music, photos and online content. ReQuest's 2007 data sheet lists it for use with ReQuest iQ and F-Series servers (F2, F4, iQ.IMS) running Serious Play 5.0 or higher, with a TV that has an HDMI or component input. That data sheet shows two USB ports while this unit has four, so the hardware described below is taken from this unit's own rear panel.
What connections are on the back?
Video outputs are HDMI, DVI-D, VGA and component (Pr/Y/Pb) TV out. Audio connections are coaxial and optical digital audio, analog line in and line out, plus further 3.5 mm jacks. There is an IR input jack, four USB ports and a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port for the home network.
What condition is this unit in?
Used. The photos show a clean front panel with the "Intelligent Media Client" legend and ReQuest logo intact, and a rear panel with all connectors in place and a little dust around the power inlet. No remote control, power cord or accessories appear in the photos.
