Pepperl+Fuchs WE77/Ex-2 switch amplifier, part no. 129198, new in its original box. Two channels, each with an intrinsically safe control circuit for a NAMUR sensor or a dry contact, and one changeover relay out. Supply is 230 VAC. Also searched as WE77 Ex 2, WE 77/EX-2 230V or Pepperl+Fuchs WE77/Ex-2-230V.
How does a NAMUR switch amplifier work?
The WE77/Ex-2 feeds about 8 V DC into each field circuit and watches the current. A NAMUR sensor switches between low and high current (switching point 1.2 to 2.1 mA), and the amplifier turns that into a relay contact on the safe side. Galvanic isolation sits between input, output and supply, so the field wiring can run into Zone 0, 1 or 2.
Can I use it with lead breakage monitoring?
Yes. Without jumpers, and with a 10 kΩ resistor across the contact at the field end, the unit detects a broken lead and drops the relay. Jumpers 3-4 and 6-7, or 2-3 and 7-8, switch off line monitoring and set the relay to energize on the 0 or 1 signal. The terminal guide is printed on the red front plate.
