The MKS 99G0598 is an MKS HPS Products hot (heated) vacuum angle valve with a stainless steel body, two clamp-type flanges and a red cap marked "CAUTION HOT". HPS Products is a vacuum product line of MKS Instruments. The part number 99G0598 is printed twice on the cap label, with the numbers 018454959 and 160205. A metal bellows is visible inside the body through the side port.
Why are vacuum valves heated?
MKS heats vacuum valves to limit the buildup of process by-products inside the valve, so the materials do not solidify and clog the line. MKS lists heated valves for processes such as ALD, CVD, PECVD, LPCVD and etch.
How does an angle valve work?
In an angle valve the two ports are at 90 degrees. A sealing plate (poppet) moves along the axis of the body and closes against the seat of the inline port. In a bellows-sealed valve, a metal bellows seals the moving stem from the vacuum.
What is in the photos?
The complete valve from several sides, the MKS HPS "CAUTION HOT" label, the 99G0598 part number label, the inside of both ports, and the bellows. Condition: used.
