What does the AC Control PCB do in the VersaPulse PowerSuite?
According to the service manual, mains power runs from the circuit breaker through the line filter to TB1 on this board, with a surge protector across the mains. From there the board powers the 24 V AC interlock transformer and the start/run/stop circuit, and it brings power up through soft-start resistors R1 and R2 or the main contactor K4. Fused outputs feed the high-voltage supply's auxiliary transformer, the water pump, the low-voltage DC supply and the fan speed controller.
What is on this board?
The photos show the silkscreen COHERENT MEDICAL SELECT 3 AC CONTROL ASSY 0636-047-01 REV. C, a large toroidal transformer with flying leads, two 3 Ω 20 W soft-start resistors, a Phoenix Contact MAINS-PRINTRAB surge module and a Signal Transformer 14A-10R-28 at T1. A plug-in daughterboard marked 0636-049 sits between the K2 relay and T1. The service manual lists 0636-049-01 as the Fan Speed Controller PCB and places it in that spot. Headers are marked for the CPU interlock, key switch, E-stop switch, flow switch, transformer thermostat and tach input.
How is the input voltage set?
A table printed on the board sets the mains range by moving the TB5-1 lead: to TB2-2 for 190–210 V, TB2-3 for 211–230 V or TB2-4 for 231–264 V, with matching jumpers on TB7. On this unit the lead is fitted in the TB2 block. The service manual describes the same TB5 / TB2 / TB7 configuration step during installation.
