The GE Security S730DVT-EST2 is a Series 730DV fiber optic transmitter that sends one-way video and two-way multiprotocol data over two multimode fibers. It belongs to the Interlogix (formerly GE Security) 730DV family, uses 10-bit digital video processing with 560 TV lines of resolution, meets the EIA/TIA-250C medium-haul standard and has a 13 dB optical budget in the multimode version. What is on the front and rear panels?
The front panel has a rotary DATA SELECT switch and five status LEDs: Level/Loss, Video In, Data In, Data Out and Enabled. One end carries a BNC VIDEO IN connector, an 8-position green data terminal block (DATA 1–8), a DATA / C.C. selector switch and a 4-position power terminal block. The other end has the two optical ports, marked RX and TX, both fitted with dust caps. The metal case has mounting flanges on both sides.
Where is the S730DVT-EST2 used?
It is the camera-end unit of a CCTV fiber link: it takes composite video from a camera and carries control data in both directions to a matching 730DV receiver at the control room. Data format is field-selectable, and the unit supports standalone and rack configurations.
