The ADLINK PCIe-GIE64+ is a 4-channel PCI Express x4 frame grabber with four independent Gigabit Ethernet ports that power and connect GigE Vision cameras over a single cable each (Power over Ethernet). It is used in machine vision inspection systems where several PoE cameras run from one PC. The card is marked PCIe-GIE64+ with PCB number 51-18519-0A50, and each RJ45 port has its own MAC/PHY.
What is a GigE Vision frame grabber?
A GigE Vision camera sends images over standard Gigabit Ethernet. A frame grabber like the PCIe-GIE64+ gives each camera its own dedicated 1000 Mb/s port instead of sharing a network switch, and with PoE it also supplies the camera's power over the same cable, so one cable carries power, data and synchronization.
What does the PCIe-GIE64+ add over a standard network card?
According to ADLINK's datasheet: IEEE 802.3af PoE on each port with automatic detection of PoE and non-PoE cameras, smart PoE APIs to switch port power by software, hardware IEEE 1588 (PTP) time synchronization for multi-camera capture, link aggregation and 9 KB jumbo frames, and LEDs showing connection status.
How is PoE powered?
The card draws +3.3 V (max 2.5 A) from the PCIe slot. ADLINK specifies an additional +12 V supply for the PoE cameras, fed through the 4-pin power connector on the board (visible in the photos).
What is in the photos?
The card with its full-height bracket, four RJ45 ports, heat sink and 4-pin power connector, and the back with the PCB marking and serial label. Condition: used. ADLINK has replaced this model in its current range with the PCIe-GIE7x series.

Questions about this part
What is the ADLINK PCIe-GIE64+?
A 4-port PoE GigE Vision frame grabber on a PCI Express x4 card, for connecting and powering up to four GigE Vision cameras.
Does it power the cameras?
Yes. Each port supports IEEE 802.3af PoE, up to 15.4 W, with automatic detection of PoE and non-PoE cameras.
Does it need an extra power cable?
For PoE, yes. ADLINK specifies an additional +12 V supply through the 4-pin connector on the card.
Can it synchronize several cameras?
Yes. The PCIe-GIE64+ supports hardware IEEE 1588 (PTP) for synchronized multi-camera capture.
What is the difference between GigE Vision and USB3 Vision?
Both are camera interface standards. GigE Vision uses Ethernet, which allows long cables and power over the same cable (PoE); USB3 Vision uses USB 3.0 with higher bandwidth but shorter cables.
What slot does it need?
A PCI Express x4 slot (or larger). The photos show a full-height bracket.
Is the PCIe-GIE64+ still made?
ADLINK's current range lists the PCIe-GIE7x series instead; the GIE64+ datasheet is filed under discontinued products.
