Cegelec Gradathyr 330A, a three-phase power unit with its Cegelec control board 348 Y 40001 mounted on top. Used. The chassis label reads Gradathyr, 02/10, 330A, 1901. Line terminals are marked L1 L2 L3, load terminals U V W. A finned heatsink with two fans sits underneath, and a clear cover protects the board.
What is a Gradathyr?
Gradathyr is the name on the chassis label. Gradateur is the French word for an AC power controller built around thyristors or triacs, which varies the effective voltage a load receives. Older listings call this unit a power supply. The layout, three-phase line in and U V W out, is that of a 3 phase thyristor power controller stage, also searched as an SCR power controller.
What is on the control board?
The board is silkscreened CEGELEC 348 Y 40001, rev b, with a sticker reading 1683 11/09. The main chip carries a V211.12 label. You get a 7-segment display, green, red and yellow LEDs, two trimmers, a 9-pin D-sub socket, two rows of screw terminals for control wiring and an on-board transformer. Two wire harnesses run down to the power stage.

Questions about this part
What current rating does the Gradathyr 330A have?
330A, as printed on the chassis label. No voltage rating is visible in the photos.
How does a thyristor power controller work?
Thyristors, usually in antiparallel pairs, switch the AC supply to the load for a controlled part of the time. That sets the effective voltage and power the load gets; a three-phase unit does it on each phase.
Is it a power supply?
Old listings call it one. It is an AC power stage: three-phase in on L1 L2 L3, controlled output on U V W.
Which control board is fitted?
Cegelec 348 Y 40001 rev b, with a V211.12 label on the main chip.
Who made the Gradathyr?
The control board inside is silkscreened CEGELEC. Gradathyr is the name on the chassis label.
Does it have cooling fans?
Yes, two axial fans under the heatsink, wired with red crimp spade terminals.
