Excelsys Xg5 powerMod, the 48 V output module for Xgen configurable power supplies. The label reads Model Xg5, Vmin 28.0, Vnom 48.0, Vmax 58.0, Imax 6, Watts 288, all volts DC, code 084806A. It plugs into an Xgen powerPac chassis and gives one output. A blue trim pot sits next to the output screw terminals.
What does an Xgen powerMod do?
The Excelsys Xgen power supply is built from a chassis (the powerPac, which takes the AC input) and plug-in powerMods, one per output. Pick the modules for the voltages you need, slot them in, and the supply is configured. The Xg5 is the 48 V, 288 W module in that range.
Can I set it below 48 V?
Yes. Advanced Energy lists the Xg5 set point adjust range as 28.0 to 58.0 V, and a dynamic Vtrim range of 8.0 to 58.0 V. Imax is 6.0 A, so 48 V x 6 A gives the 288 W rating; set lower, the module delivers less power.
Does it support remote sense?
Advanced Energy lists remote sense and power good for the Xg5, with a maximum capacitive load of 25 mF. For large load capacitance they recommend a diode or other blocking element on the output, to stop reverse energy at shutdown.
