The Kinetrol 123-100 is a double acting pneumatic rotary vane actuator in the Kinetrol Model 12 size, with DIN/ISO mounting, used to turn quarter-turn valves and dampers. The Kinetrol box label reads "DIN/ISO D/A ACTUATOR, Part No: 123-100", the nameplate reads "TYPE: 123-100" with serial number 2140671, and the casing is cast with "12" and "KINETROL". It comes new, open box, in the original Kinetrol foam packaging.
How does a Kinetrol rotary vane actuator work?
Air pressure acts on a single vane inside the casing, and the vane turns the output shaft directly, without a rack and pinion. In a double acting (D/A) unit, air is fed to one port or the other to turn the shaft each way. Travel on the Model 12 is adjustable from 80° to 102°.
How much torque does the Model 12 give?
Kinetrol's Model 12 double acting data sheet lists 103 Nm at 1.5 bar, 319 Nm at 4 bar and 575 Nm at 7 bar (830 lbf·in at 20 psi up to 5000 lbf·in at 100 psi). Displaced volume is 1410 cm³ (86 in³).

How does a rotary vane actuator work?
Compressed air pushes on one vane fixed to the output shaft, so the shaft turns directly with no rack and pinion. A double acting unit uses air for both directions of travel.
What is the difference between double acting and spring return?
A double acting actuator needs air to move both ways. A spring return actuator uses air one way and a spring to return, so it moves to a set position when air fails. This unit is double acting (D/A on the label).
